I believe we’re created beings, and because we’re made in the image of our Creator, we’re wired to create. It’s in us.
Sure, that sounds nice—"Let’s make art!" But hold up.
Before I get all artsy on you, let’s talk about something bigger. Real talk. Stuff not many people, especially believers, seem to want to dig into.
Here’s the thing. We need to stop and think. Not just about our art, but about life itself. We need to take this life seriously.
Q 1. Why are we here?
Q 2. Why is so hard to be here?
Q 3. And what comes after?
Does any of this even matter, or should we just "seize the day" and move on?
Big questions, right? Don’t click away just yet. These things matter.

Let’s take on the first question: Why are we here?
You, me—we’re here because God thought of us.
Simple as that.
He wanted you here, wanted to know you.
Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? As an artist, when I think of something cool, I have to make it. Can’t help myself.
God knew you before you were even conceived. He knew all the ways you’d mess up. He knew what you’d think of Him—even when it wasn’t pretty. But He still thought you were worth making. He wanted to know you, period.
As creatives, we get this.
You make something because you want to see it exist and enjoy it. But it’s more than just art.
Think about our kids—they’re alive, they grow. It’s almost enough just to witness their life but it gets even better when they love us back. Nothing beats that connection.
God made you because He thought you were worth it.
Now, if you choose to love Him back and walk in His ways, things get even better. Sure, you can live however you want without Him, but you’re missing out on the full picture of what He’s got planned for you.
Once you decide to walk with God, things open up. You see His ways—they’re beyond anything you could imagine. Bigger, deeper, better than what you can even experience in this lifetime. And He wants to share that with you.
Here’s the kicker: once you get how great God is, you can’t keep it to yourself. You want to tell people.
That’s the mission—make Him known. Make His Son known. And suddenly, you see how upside-down this world is, and you want to set it right with the good and beautiful truth.
Do you know what Jesus said when he left the earth?
➵ Go out into the world, tell them about Him, and disciple nations.
It’s huge. Are you even close to bringing people to the Father? Are you anywhere near discipling a nation?
Your tool is visual art. It’s the language you speak, the way you connect with people. Your art is how you carry the Kingdom of God to the world.
So, why are we here? That’s why.
Have you moved past living just for yourself? Are you realizing God’s love and that Jesus made a way for you to stand in God’s presence and know Him?
His glory is so intense that without Jesus, it would kill us. But Jesus made it possible for us to be close to the Father again.
➵ So, if you’ve accepted that first point and have decided to follow Jesus—have you really considered the the commission He gave you? Are you making Him known?
Are you using your talent—visual art—to communicate the most important message there is? Are you discipling nations through your art?
➵ No? Well it’s time to get to work.
